The Première Ligue is the highest level of professional women's football in France. Formerly known as Division 1 Féminine (D1 Arkema), the league was renamed Première Ligue in 2024. It features many of France's leading clubs, including Olympique Lyonnais, Paris Saint-Germain, Paris FC, Dijon FCO, FC Fleury 91, and Montpellier HSC.
The Première Ligue season runs from autumn to spring, with clubs competing in a traditional league format to determine the champion and qualification for European competitions. Matches are played at stadiums such as Groupama Stadium, Parc des Princes, Stade Charléty, Stade Gaston-Gérard, and Stade Bernard Gasset.
The league is home to many of the world's top footballers, including Kadidiatou Diani, Marie-Antoinette Katoto, Grace Geyoro, Sakina Karchaoui, Tabitha Chawinga, Wendie Renard, Melchie Dumornay, and Ada Hegerberg. Organised by the French Football Federation (FFF) and the Ligue Féminine de Football Professionnel (LFFP), the Première Ligue is widely regarded as one of Europe's leading women's football competitions.
