The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) is the top professional women's football league in the United States. Founded in 2012, the league began play in 2013 and features clubs from across the country, including Orlando Pride, Gotham FC, Kansas City Current, Portland Thorns FC, Washington Spirit, and San Diego Wave FC.

The NWSL season consists of a regular season followed by the NWSL Playoffs, with the highest-ranked teams advancing to compete for the league championship. Matches are played at stadiums such as Inter&Co Stadium, Providence Park, CPKC Stadium, Audi Field, and Sports Illustrated Stadium, with the season typically running from spring through autumn.

The league is home to many of the world's leading footballers, including Trinity Rodman, Sophia Wilson (Smith), Rose Lavelle, Naomi Girma, Marta, Barbra Banda, Temwa Chawinga, and Esther González. Sanctioned by the U.S. Soccer Federation, the NWSL is widely regarded as one of the world's premier women's professional football leagues.
