RC Lens have been handed a lifeline in French women's football after Dijon FCO Féminin opted against challenging a DNCG ruling that barred them from national competition. The decision means Lens will line up in the Arkema Première Ligue next season despite a turbulent campaign.

How It Unfolded

The DNCG delivered its verdict on 30 June, excluding Dijon from women's national competitions. With no appeal forthcoming, the pathway opened for Lens to retain their place in the top division. The club acknowledged the outcome in an official statement.

A Fresh Start After Narrow Relegation

Lens finished 11th out of 12 last term and were relegated on goal difference alone. Now granted a reprieve, the club's ambitions are twofold: survive in the league and continue building their women's programme for the long term.

Pre-Season Fixtures Taking Shape

Summer preparations are ramping up across French women's football. FC Nantes face Le Havre AC on 25 July before hosting RC Lens on 2 August. AS Saint-Étienne, meanwhile, take on Montpellier on 28 July and Grenoble on 8 August.
