Steph Houghton's decade of dominance at Manchester City has been immortalised with a mosaic unveiled by chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak.

Steph Houghton now has her face permanently etched into the walls of Manchester City's Women's First Team facility - and honestly, it was about time.
Club chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak personally revealed a mosaic tribute to the former captain, who holds the record for the most appearances in the women's team's history. Houghton hung up her boots in 2024 after a decade of service that was, by any measure, rather impressive.
Eight major honours. 242 appearances. 21 goals. One WSL title, three FA Cups, four League Cups, and two PFA WSL Team of the Year nods. She shares the title of most decorated player in the club's history alongside Jill Scott - not bad company to keep.
Retirement hasn't exactly meant putting her feet up. Houghton became City's first female ambassador and even dipped into coaching during Nick Cushing's interim spell in 2025. The mosaic itself was crafted by local artist Mark Kennedy, having been commissioned back in June 2024. It forms part of a broader series celebrating City legends, as OneFootball reports.
Manchester City Women's Managing Director Charlotte O'Neill joined Al Mubarak at the ceremony, with Houghton and her family present to soak in the moment.
