Dramatic 96th-minute winner caps fairytale return

Fourteen months out with a torn ACL. Ninety-six minutes on the clock. Caiya Hanks picked the perfect moment to announce herself again, slamming home the winner as the Portland Thorns edged the Orlando Pride 2-1 on Saturday night.

Deyna Castellanos had broken the deadlock in the 58th minute, finishing off a move set up by Pietra Tordin. Orlando hit back five minutes later through Jacqueline Ovalle, levelling proceedings and setting the stage for Hanks' heroics deep into stoppage time.

Louisville cruise past Boston

Elsewhere, Racing Louisville put the Boston Legacy to the sword in a commanding 4-1 victory. Kayla Fischer was the star, bagging a brace either side of half-time - first in the 44th minute, then shortly after the hour mark.

Katie O'Kane converted a penalty between Fischer's two strikes, and Emma Sears piled on further misery with a goal in the 59th minute. Sammy Smith grabbed a consolation for the Legacy in the 95th minute, as reported by AP, but by then the contest was long settled.
