Angel City looked destined for defeat on Sunday night before Ally Sentnor unleashed a long-range effort in the 85th minute to snatch a 1-1 draw against the Washington Spirit.
It was Sentnor's first goal since joining Angel City - and it nearly came much earlier. She had the ball in the net in the 37th minute, only for VAR to chalk it off after spotting a handball by teammate Prisca Chilufya.
Trinity Rodman had given the Spirit the lead in the 65th minute, curling a beauty over goalkeeper Angelina Anderson for her 10th goal of the campaign. Tara Rudd provided the assist.
The Houston Dash delivered a dramatic 3-2 victory over North Carolina Courage, with substitute Clarissa Larisey netting twice to turn the match on its head.
Ally Schlegel opened proceedings for the Courage in the 37th minute before Kate Faasse levelled for Houston just five minutes later. Evelyn Ijeh restored North Carolina's advantage in the 51st minute - her 10th of the season - but Larisey equalised in the 80th minute and then struck again in stoppage time to seal all three points, as AP reports.
