Good news for fans who like their football with a side of existential dread about Monday morning: the Women's Super League is bringing back Sunday evening kick-offs for the 2026-27 season.

The move is part of a revamped broadcast plan drawn up after last season's viewing figures got a thorough going-over. Six different TV slots will now be on offer - because apparently, variety is the spice of women's football.

Who's Showing What

Sky Sports keeps its familiar Saturday 12.45pm and Sunday noon slots, but adds Friday 7pm and Sunday 6pm kick-offs to the mix. Meanwhile, the BBC will broadcast 19 matches live - Saturdays at 12.30pm and Sundays at 2.30pm, as The Guardian reports.

Lessons From Last Season

Here's the irony. Sunday evening slots were axed last season because fans weren't turning up to stadiums. Broadcasters, however, rather liked them. The new schedule tries to have it both ways.

A key goal is spreading matches across the weekend rather than cramming them into the same time slots - a headache that plagued last season. The revised plan also aims to dodge clashes with Premier League fixtures, which is sensible if you'd rather not compete with Erling Haaland for eyeballs.
