VfL Bochum wasted no time making a statement on matchday one of the 2026/2027 2. Frauen-Bundesliga season, dispatching Hertha BSC 3-0 in front of 2,002 fans at the Ruhrstadion.
Nina Lange set the tone early, firing Bochum ahead in the 13th minute. American new signing Adrienne Jordan then doubled the advantage just before the break in the 44th minute, marking an impressive debut. Substitute Anna-Luisa Figueira Marques completed the rout with a 76th-minute strike moments after entering the pitch.
Elsewhere, FC Carl Zeiss Jena celebrated their maiden victory in the division with a 2-1 triumph over Borussia Mönchengladbach. SGS Essen beat Eintracht Frankfurt II 3-1, while FC Ingolstadt 04 edged 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam 1-0.
SV Meppen showed resilience to come from behind and defeat SG 99 Andernach 2-1, and SC Sand put three past 1. FC Köln II in a 3-1 win. TSG Hoffenheim II, however, fell 1-3 at home to Viktoria Berlin.
