Krug swaps Leipzig for Nantes

Krug heads to France

German defender Victoria Krug has completed a move to FC Nantes following the expiry of her contract at RB Leipzig. The 28-year-old has penned a deal with the French club that keeps her there until 30 June 2027, as reported by Soccerdonna.

Five years in Leipzig

Krug spent five seasons with RB Leipzig, racking up 114 competitive appearances and four goals. A key figure in the squad, she wore the captain's armband as the club clinched the 2. Bundesliga title in 2022/23 - earning their maiden promotion to the top flight. She went on to feature 64 times in the Bundesliga.

In her final campaign, 2025/26, she appeared in all 22 league fixtures, starting 15 and netting once, while also playing two DFB-Pokal ties.

From Potsdam to the US and back

Krug's career began at 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam, where she gained early Bundesliga exposure through the club's second team. A two-year spell with the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in the United States followed between 2017 and 2019, combining football with her studies.

She returned to Germany in 2020, joining SV Meppen for a season that brought 20 league outings and three cup matches before Leipzig came calling.

Youth international pedigree

Krug has 21 caps across Germany's youth national teams. Her standout moment came at the 2015 U17 European Championship, where she played every match as the side reached the semi-finals.
