Werder Bremen chairman Klaus Filbry has been unanimously elected second vice president of the Frauen-Bundesliga, stepping in after Florian Zeutschler's exit following SGS Essen's relegation.
Klaus Filbry, the man at the helm of Werder Bremen's management, has been voted in as the Frauen-Bundesliga's second vice president. The decision was unanimous among all 14 member clubs.
Filbry fills the vacancy left by Florian Zeutschler, whose departure was triggered by SGS Essen's relegation from the top flight - a move mandated by the league's own regulations.
The Frauen-Bundesliga's leadership trio now comprises president Katharina Kiel, first vice president Veronica Saß, and Filbry in the second vice president role.
Kiel has expressed confidence that Filbry's extensive experience will prove instrumental as the league navigates a pivotal phase of development.
Among the key items under discussion is the possible introduction of playoff formats for both the championship and relegation. However, whether these models will ultimately be adopted remains uncertain.
