It took just two minutes for the deadlock to break - and it came in the cruellest fashion. Anna Walter swung in a cross from the left flank, and Emma Petrovic could only divert the ball into her own net, gifting Hammarby a dream start.
The early goal set the tone. Hammarby kept pushing forward, with both Mari Nyhagen and Stina Lennartsson going close but firing just wide of the left post. Lennartsson later reflected on a strong team display, noting they had been dominant through the latter stages of the half.
On the other side, goalkeeper Zecira Musovic was far from pleased. She voiced frustration at her team's inability to compete physically, insisting that football is fundamentally a combat sport. Without winning duels, she argued, it becomes almost impossible to gain any foothold in the match, as Expressen reports.
Analyst Hanna Marklund added that Petrovic should have dealt with Walter's delivery more convincingly, underlining the fine margins that decided the opening exchanges.
