Swiss defender Noelle Maritz has signed a new contract with Aston Villa after 59 appearances in two and a half seasons.

Noelle Maritz clearly likes what she sees at Aston Villa. The Swiss defender has put pen to paper on a new deal, the club confirmed via their official website.
It's a sensible bit of business from Villa. The 30-year-old has been a steady presence since arriving from Arsenal in January 2024, racking up 59 appearances across two and a half seasons.
In a league where defensive consistency is worth its weight in gold, Maritz has delivered exactly that in the Barclays Women's Super League. Few defenders fly under the radar quite so effectively - and Villa have moved to lock her down before anyone else got ideas.
Not a bad Monday for Villa fans, then. Their Swiss army knife at the back isn't going anywhere, as WSL Full-Time reports.
