The share of women occupying top management roles across Germany's top two football divisions has risen to 9.6 per cent for the 2025/2026 season - a notable jump from just 6 per cent a year earlier.
The findings come from a study by "Fußball kann mehr" (FKM), which examined all 36 clubs in the Bundesliga and second division, as reported by Soccerdonna.
Of 18 top management positions filled last season, four went to women. Most significantly, Tatjana Haenni at RB Leipzig became the first female CEO in Bundesliga history.
Seven clubs now have at least one woman in senior leadership, up from four previously. Borussia Dortmund and Union Berlin are among those with female representation at the top.
Progress in control bodies remains sluggish. Women hold just 11.8 per cent of positions across the 36 clubs' supervisory structures, and only two of 32 board chairs are women.
At the second management tier - known as Direct Reports - the picture is slightly brighter, with women filling 19.44 per cent of roles. Just five clubs have no female leadership at this level.
