Steiner commits to Hoffenheim until 2029

TSG Hoffenheim have locked down one of their brightest young talents. Marie Steiner, still just 20, has put pen to paper on a two-year contract extension that ties her to the club until the summer of 2029.

Rapid rise through the ranks

Steiner arrived at Hoffenheim's U20 set-up in January 2022 and wasted no time making an impression. Within three months she had made her Bundesliga bow against Bayer Leverkusen. Across 52 appearances for the second team, the forward racked up 18 goals and 12 assists - numbers that made her promotion inevitable.

First-team impact

She has since become a fixture in the senior squad, featuring in 40 competitive outings across the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal and contributing to ten goals. Last season was her strongest yet: she appeared in 24 of 26 league fixtures and hit a personal-best tally of five Bundesliga goals, as Soccerdonna reports.

Growing international pedigree

Steiner's trajectory at club level has been mirrored on the international stage. She helped Germany lift the U17 European Championship in 2022 before heading to India for the World Cup that same year. Now a regular in the U23 national team, she underlined her growing stature by netting both goals in a recent victory over Denmark.
