London's summer shopping spree

Neither Arsenal nor Chelsea managed to hold onto their European crowns, but that hasn't dampened the mood in the capital. Quite the opposite, actually.

A whopping nineteen players - including the likes of Grace Geyoro, Melvine Malard, and Alexia Putellas - are set to pull on London shirts this season. Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, West Ham, and London City are all stocking up.

The league grows - and so does the arms race

The English top flight is expanding to 14 clubs, with seven of them based in London. Half the league, essentially, crammed into one city. That's quite the commute for away fans.

Putellas joining a side without continental qualification speaks volumes about the league's pulling power. Rumours of further arrivals, including Sakina Karchaoui, only add to the buzz, as Footeuses reports.

Youth meets experience

The new recruits cover the full spectrum. Young talent Alice Sombath heads to Tottenham, while seasoned defender Ona Battle bolsters Arsenal's ranks. Manchester United and Manchester City won't be standing idle either.

England leads the way

England now sits atop the UEFA nation rankings, and the national team's success is fuelling a club-level boom. London, it seems, has quietly become European women's football's new capital.
