Manchester City's Naomi Layzell heads to Everton on a season-long loan deal, seeking regular game time after injury troubles.

Defender Naomi Layzell is swapping the blue of Manchester for the blue of Merseyside. The youngster has sealed a season-long loan switch to Everton in the Barclays Women's Super League, as reported by OneFootball.
Layzell arrived at Manchester City from Bristol City in the summer of 2024 and wasted no time making an impression. Her debut came in the UEFA Women's Champions League against Paris FC in September 2024 - not a bad way to introduce yourself.
A month later, she delivered a goal and an assist in a tidy 2-0 win over Barcelona. Yes, that Barcelona.
Unfortunately, injuries have taken their toll. Layzell managed just 14 appearances in her first season at City and only five last term, totalling 19 outings across both campaigns.
With her recovery now on track, the loan move to Everton offers exactly what she needs: regular minutes in the WSL. If that Barcelona performance is anything to go by, Toffees fans have reason to be quietly excited.
