Nottingham Forest have snapped up 20-year-old Finnish winger Ilona Walta on a permanent transfer, making her the club's tenth summer signing. Not bad for a Thursday.
Walta arrives from Norwegian Toppserien outfit Molde FK and has put pen to paper on a two-year deal at The City Ground, WSL Full-Time reports.
Despite being barely old enough to toast her own signing, Walta has already racked up an impressive CV. She launched her senior career at HJK Helsinki before stints at PK-35 Vantaa and FC Honka in Finland.
A move to Swedish side Vittsjö CIK followed, and then came the hop across to Norway with Molde. Now she's landed in Nottingham. Someone likes collecting stamps in her passport.
Walta has represented Finland at several youth levels, including the Under-23s, adding international experience to her growing list of credentials.
The winger described herself as an energetic player who thrives on creating chances, and said she's eager to get stuck in with her new teammates. Forest fans will be hoping that energy translates into goals and assists when the action kicks off.
