Birmingham City FC have completed the signing of Japanese midfielder Suzu Amano from Växjö DFF on a permanent deal.

Amano arrives from Swedish OBOS Damallsvenskan side Växjö DFF, with the transfer fee kept firmly under wraps. Because nothing says "mystery" quite like an undisclosed fee.
The Japanese midfielder launched her career at INAC Kobe Leonessa before heading to Scandinavia in 2024, joining Hammarby IF. A loan spell at Växjö DFF followed in 2025, which clearly went well enough for the club to make things permanent ahead of the 2026 campaign.

Amano has pulled on the Japan shirt at multiple youth levels, including the Under-23 set-up - handy experience for someone still just 22.
