AISeattle's 11-game losing streak is over - and it took a commanding performance from Dominique Malonga to get it done. The centre delivered 26 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks as the Storm beat the Chicago Sky 97-88.
The Storm held a comfortable 47-33 lead at half-time and were up by 10 early in the fourth quarter. But DiJonai Carrington, who posted a career-high 26 points, drove through for a fast-break layup to cut the deficit to just two at 84-82.
That's when Zia Cooke stepped up. After a Chicago turnover, the reserve guard buried a three-pointer to push the lead back to 89-82. Seattle never looked back, holding at least a five-point cushion for the rest of the contest.
Natisha Hiedeman was superb alongside Malonga, posting 18 points and nine assists while going a perfect 12-of-12 from the free-throw line. Cooke chipped in 16 points from the bench.
For the Sky, Carrington converted all 10 of her free throws en route to her career-best outing. Kamilla Cardoso recorded a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds, and Courtney Vandersloot added 13 points.
Chicago travel to Golden State on Wednesday, while Seattle welcome Portland on Friday.
