AIJenna Nighswonger is swapping north London drizzle for the Bay Area sunshine. The 25-year-old full-back has completed a permanent move to Bay FC, penning a three-year deal after parting ways with Arsenal.
An undisclosed fee has changed hands for the defender, as confirmed by WSL Full-Time.
Nighswonger spent 18 months in England. She managed just six appearances for Arsenal - but one of those came with a rather handy souvenir: a UEFA Women's Champions League winner's medal from the 2024/2025 season. Not bad for a short stay.
The American was shipped out on loan to Aston Villa for the second half of last season. She clocked up eight Barclays Women's Super League appearances during her spell in the Midlands.
Now she returns to the NWSL, where she's expressed plenty of enthusiasm about getting stuck in with her new club. Bay FC will hope her European experience adds some continental polish to their squad.
