Clark hit with one-game ban

Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark will miss her team's upcoming clash with the New York Liberty after picking up her eighth technical foul of the WNBA season during Saturday's game against the Chicago Sky.

The technical came in the third quarter when Clark made contact with a referee - an automatic one-game suspension under league rules once a player reaches eight technicals.

Carrington ejected on return

The drama at the United Center wasn't limited to Clark. Dijonai Carrington, back in action for the Sky after a 10-month absence with a left foot sprain, lasted fewer than four minutes on the court before being tossed.

Carrington entered with 5:29 left in the opening quarter. With 1:59 remaining, officials reviewed forceful contact she made with Sophie Cunningham and upgraded the call to a Flagrant 2 - meaning an automatic ejection.

Standings and context

The Fever sit near the top of the Eastern Conference at 19-12, while the Sky continue to struggle at 12-19, hampered by injuries to key personnel throughout the campaign.

Saturday's contest tipped off at 3:30 p.m. ET at the United Center in Chicago.
