Watford have snapped up attacking midfielder Vera Jones on a season-long loan from Chelsea, making her the club's 12th summer signing. Not bad for a Thursday morning's work.
The 18-year-old joined Chelsea's Professional Game Academy two years ago but is yet to feature for their first team. She did, however, cut her teeth during a loan stint at Bristol City in Barclays WSL2 last season, racking up 18 appearances and chipping in with two assists, WSL Full-Time reports.
Chelsea clearly rate Jones highly. She penned her first professional deal at Stamford Bridge last year and recently extended her contract through to summer 2029. She's also represented England at multiple youth levels, including the Under-20s.
Jones arrives as Watford gear up for their first campaign back in Barclays WSL2. Twelve signings in one window suggests they're not messing about.
