Arsenal Women picked up a morale-boosting 2-1 win over Manchester City Women in a behind-closed-doors friendly at the Sobha Realty Training Centre, OneFootball reports.
Stina Blackstenius gave Arsenal the lead, nodding in from a Chloe Kelly corner. Lauren Hemp pegged City level just before the break. Then, late on, Lisa Baum popped up with the winner after a neat assist from Selina Cerci. Drama sorted.
That was Arsenal's last secret scrimmage. They return to public pre-season duties against Paris FC on Sunday at 1pm, followed by Charlton Athletic on Wednesday at 7pm.
The real business kicks off on Sunday, 6 September, when Arsenal travel to Brighton & Hove Albion for a 12pm start. No pressure, then.
