German defender Kathrin Hendrich has urged Bundesliga clubs to invest more in infrastructure and salaries or risk a growing exodus of talent to foreign leagues.

German international Kathrin Hendrich has warned that the Bundesliga risks losing its best players unless clubs step up their investment in infrastructure and wages.
The defender, who spent a season with the Chicago Red Stars before signing with 1. FC Köln, has seen first-hand how rapidly conditions abroad are improving - and she believes Germany cannot afford to stand still.
While a wave of German players headed overseas during the summer transfer window, Hendrich bucked the trend. Her move to Köln was driven by a desire to be close to her hometown as she enters the final chapter of her career.
Yet she acknowledges the pull of foreign leagues is growing stronger. Better facilities, higher salaries and improved playing conditions are making clubs outside Germany increasingly hard to ignore, Sport1 reports.
Hendrich stressed that financial commitment - particularly in player wages - is essential if the Bundesliga wants to remain competitive. Without it, she fears retaining top talent will become an uphill battle.
For now, the defender is focused on the present at Köln, though she refuses to rule anything out for the future.
