Olivia Miles suffered a left ankle injury during the fourth quarter of Wednesday night's contest between the Minnesota Lynx and the Golden State Valkyries. The guard stepped on the foot of teammate Napheesa Collier while defending and rolled her ankle awkwardly.
Miles limped to the sideline and sat on the court visibly in pain for several minutes before being helped to the bench. She did not return.
Before her departure, Miles had been the standout performer on the court. She posted 20 points on a ruthlessly efficient 8-of-10 shooting, dished out seven assists, and added two steals and two blocks across 30 minutes of action.
Golden State mounted a late charge, but the league-leading Lynx held on to claim a 77-66 victory. Kayla McBride matched Miles's 20-point haul, while Collier chipped in 18 points and eight rebounds to round off a strong collective effort.
