Swedish full-back Hanna Glas has waved goodbye to FC Bayern Munich and is heading stateside to join Kansas City Current in the National Women's Super League.
The 29-year-old is still working her way back from a serious knee injury picked up last summer. Presumably, she fancied doing her rehab somewhere with better barbecue.
Bayern Women's sporting director Bianca Rech had nothing but praise for the departing defender, calling her a key figure both on the pitch and in the dressing room. She wished Glas every success across the Atlantic.
Glas herself got rather sentimental, saying Munich had felt like home and that her time at the club exceeded all expectations. Fair play - not everyone can say that about Bavaria.
Glas arrived at Bayern from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2020 and racked up 50 appearances. She helped the side clinch the Bundesliga title in 2020/21 and produced a stunning goal in the Champions League semi-final against Chelsea - one good enough for UEFA to name it Goal of the Season.
Playing at the Allianz Arena against PSG was another moment she singled out as unforgettable, as OneFootball reports.
