Brighton & Hove Albion have moved swiftly to install Arturo Ruiz as their new head coach, just hours after Dario Vidošić departed the club for pastures new.
Not one for hanging about, the 29-year-old Spaniard starts immediately - handy, given the Barclays Women's Super League kicks off next weekend.
For someone not yet 30, Ruiz has packed in a fair bit. He cut his teeth with Atlético Madrid's reserve side before a brief stint leading their first team. Spells at Granada followed, and most recently he served as head coach at Real Sociedad from summer 2025, guiding them to a third-place finish in the Liga F Moeve last season.
Zoe Johnson, Brighton's women's and girls' managing director, said Ruiz stood out during the recruitment process, praising his ability to develop both the team and individual players, WSL Full-Time reports.
No pressure then, Arturo. Just an entire season starting in a week's time.
