Aryna Sabalenka is a Belarusian professional tennis player and one of the biggest stars on the WTA Tour. Born on May 5, 1998, in Minsk, Belarus, Sabalenka is known for her aggressive baseline game, powerful serve, and ability to dictate points with some of the hardest groundstrokes in women's tennis.
Sabalenka won her first Grand Slam singles title at the 2023 Australian Open and successfully defended the championship in 2024. Later that year, she captured her first US Open singles title before successfully defending it in 2025, giving her four Grand Slam singles titles. She has also reached the final at Roland-Garros and the semifinals at Wimbledon.
She first reached World No. 1 in the WTA singles rankings in 2023 and finished both 2024 and 2025 as the year-end No. 1. Sabalenka has also won major WTA tournaments in cities including Madrid, Miami, Cincinnati, Wuhan, Indian Wells, and Brisbane, establishing herself as a leading player across hard and clay courts.
Sabalenka has competed against many of the biggest names in women's tennis, including Iga Świątek, Coco Gauff, Elena Rybakina, Jessica Pegula, Madison Keys, and Mirra Andreeva. In addition to her singles success, she is a Grand Slam champion in doubles, winning the 2019 US Open and 2021 Australian Open alongside Elise Mertens.
