A fierce thunderstorm rolling across Hisingen forced a stoppage in today's Damallsvenskan fixture between Häcken and AIK. Torrential rain swept across the pitch just before the half-time whistle, prompting referee Amanda Nylund Karman to bring proceedings to an immediate halt.
When the interruption came, Häcken were firmly in the driving seat with a 2-1 lead. Maja Bodin had been the standout performer, netting both goals for the home side. Lotta Kalske pulled one back for AIK, but the visitors trailed heading into the enforced break.
Officials confirmed that the remaining minutes of the first half would be completed once conditions improved, with the second half to follow, as Expressen reports.
