Experienced referee Miriam Schwermer has been handed the whistle for Friday's curtain-raiser in the Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga, as 1. FC Union Berlin host FC Bayern München at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei. Kick-off is set for 18:20.
Schwermer will be flanked by assistant referees Jasmin Matysiak and Jennifer Steingräber, with Anna-Lena Heidenreich completing the team as fourth official.
A DFB referee since 2014, Schwermer is no stranger to high-profile fixtures. She took charge of the 2024 DFB-Pokalfinale between VfL Wolfsburg and Bayern München - a pedigree that makes her a fitting choice for the new campaign's opening night, OneFootball reports.
