RB Leipzig's women's team have learned who stands between them and the second round of the DFB-Pokal. Blau-Gelb Marburg, fresh off a dominant campaign in the Hessenliga, will host the tie, which is pencilled in for between 26 and 28 September 2026. A precise kick-off time is yet to be confirmed.
Underestimating the lower-league side would be unwise. Marburg claimed the Hessenliga title last season and added the Hessenpokals trophy after dispatching TSG Lütter 3-0 in the final. They then booked their DFB-Pokal berth in emphatic fashion, thumping Chemnitzer FC 6-0 away from home in the play-offs.
Before thoughts turn to cup duty, RBL Women have league business to attend to. They kick off their Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga campaign this Sunday at 16:00, welcoming Bayer 04 Leverkusen for the home opener. Tickets remain on sale, and entry is free for children aged 14 and under.
