A fresh start in Arnheim

Hamburger SV's pre-season preparations are well under way in Arnheim, Netherlands, and one player relishing every moment is summer signing Celainy Obispo.

The defender arrived from Feyenoord Rotterdam, leaving behind the city where she was born and spent five formative years as a player. Now she is throwing herself into life at HSV with infectious enthusiasm.

Why HSV?

Obispo has spoken openly about craving a new challenge. From her very first conversations with the club, she felt an immediate connection - enough to convince her that Hamburg was the right move, as Kicker reports.

Living away from family and friends for the first time has been a significant adjustment, but Obispo sees it as part of her personal growth. She describes the experience as a genuine adventure.

Settling into the squad

The transition has been eased by a welcoming dressing room and the guidance of head coach Rodolfo Esteban Cardoso. Obispo says the team already feels like family.

Road to the season opener

HSV have already completed six warm-up fixtures. Next up is a test against newly promoted 1. FSV Mainz 05, before a final preparation clash with Werder Bremen rounds off their build-up.
