Sofie Lundgaard has waved goodbye to Merseyside. The 24-year-old midfielder has left Liverpool to join Eintracht Frankfurt on a permanent basis, penning a three-year contract ahead of the 2026/2027 campaign.
Liverpool confirmed the move in an official statement, as WSL Full-Time reports.
Lundgaard originally arrived at Liverpool from Danish side Fortuna Hjørring in January 2023. She went on to clock up 42 appearances across all competitions - though a couple of long-term injuries rather rudely interrupted her progress along the way.
The Dane sounded thoroughly chuffed about her new adventure, pointing to Frankfurt's ambitions and the presence of fellow Scandinavian players as key factors in her decision. A change of scenery and a fresh challenge - sometimes that's exactly what the physio ordered.
