Juventus Women kicked off the defence of their Serie A Women's Cup crown in comfortable fashion, dispatching Como 1907 2-0 on the road on Thursday evening.
Alba Redondo broke the deadlock on 25 minutes, converting after Eva Schatzer's corner delivery was flicked on by Barbara Bonansea. It was a well-worked set piece that Como simply couldn't deal with.
The Bianconere kept things tight at the back for the remainder of the contest, with Cecilia Salvai marshalling the defence superbly and goalkeeper Danielle de Jong largely untroubled.
Remina Chiba put the result beyond doubt in the 79th minute, latching onto a pass from Estela Carbonell to double the advantage. Como pushed for a route back into the game but never looked like breaching a resolute Juventus rearguard.
Attention now turns swiftly to Europe. Juventus face St. Polten in a Women's Champions League playoff on Wednesday - a fixture that will test the squad's depth and ambition on a bigger stage, as OneFootball reports.
