BK Häcken's newest signing Maja Bodin has taken the Damallsvenskan by storm. The forward, who arrived from Växjö, sits atop the league's scoring charts after netting five times in just two appearances for the reigning champions.
Bodin announced herself with a hat trick on her debut against Brommapojkarna before adding two more in the following fixture against AIK. She has admitted the blistering start caught even her off guard, saying she hadn't anticipated such immediate returns.
Now approaching her 25th birthday, Bodin has been sharpening her craft for nearly a decade at senior level. She first stepped onto the Allsvenskan stage at just 15 with Kristianstad and went on to represent Kif Örebro and Växjö before earning her move to Häcken. She credits those earlier chapters with moulding her into the player she is today.
The defending champions hold a four-point lead over Hammarby at the top of the table, and Bodin's prolific form could prove pivotal in their title defence. Next up is a clash with FC Rosengård, who currently find themselves mired in a relegation battle, as Dagens Nyheter reports.
