Portland Thorns will honour Meghan Klingenberg before their 15 August fixture against Orlando Pride, celebrating a career that included two NWSL titles and a World Cup triumph.

Portland Thorns fans will get the chance to pay tribute to one of the club's most decorated players when Meghan Klingenberg is honoured ahead of the 15 August clash with Orlando Pride.
Klingenberg called time on her professional career in 2024 after nearly a decade in Portland, a spell that delivered two NWSL Championships and two NWSL Shields.
Before landing in Portland in 2016, Klingenberg cut her teeth with magicJack, the Boston Breakers, and the Western New York Flash in the Women's Professional Soccer league. A stint with Sweden's Tyresö FF followed before she returned stateside to join the NWSL in 2014.
On the international stage, Klingenberg earned 74 caps for the USWNT and was a key part of the defence that lifted the 2015 World Cup. That year she was named to both the FIFA Women's World Cup All-Star Team and the FIFPro Women's World XI - recognition few American defenders have matched.
These days, Klingenberg stays close to the game as host of The US Soccer Podcast, as reported by Equalizer Soccer.
