North Carolina Courage forward Ashley Sanchez has been awarded the NWSL Player of the Month for August after a blistering run of form that saw her bag five goals and two assists.
Two braces - against Boston and Angel City - underlined just how clinical Sanchez was throughout the month, as NWSL confirmed the honour voted on by the NWSL Media Association.
The 15 goals Sanchez has racked up this campaign represent a new single-season record for the Courage. That tally also draws her level with Alex Morgan and Crystal Dunn for the most goals scored in a season by an American player - and there are still eight matches left to play.
At this rate, the record could be hers outright before long.
