Manchester City have snapped up goalkeeper Anna Moorhouse on a short-term loan from Orlando Pride, marking her return to English football after six-and-a-half years away.
The Oldham-born stopper, who will pull on the number 14 shirt, becomes the fifth player to wear that squad number in City's professional era, as OneFootball reports.
Moorhouse's journey started with local sides before she joined Everton in 2012 and later moved on to Durham. She's no stranger to her new dressing room either - she previously lined up alongside Vivianne Miedema and Beth Mead during her time at Arsenal, and played with Khadija 'Bunny' Shaw at Bordeaux.
That connection with Shaw was clearly a factor. Moorhouse cancelled a family visit in Orlando within the past 24 hours to finalise the deal, expressing excitement about reuniting with the forward.
Her CV speaks for itself. She was between the posts for West Ham United when they reached the 2019 FA Cup Final - ironically against Manchester City. More recently, she set the record for most clean sheets in a single NWSL season, racking up 13 shutouts in 2024.
Away from the pitch, Moorhouse studied sports and exercise science at Liverpool Hope University between 2013 and 2016.
