Vivianne Miedema is settling in nicely at Manchester City - and by "nicely" we mean she's already got the kind of CV that makes other forwards weep into their shin pads.
The Dutch striker, valued at £9 million in Fantasy football circles, racked up 134 Fantasy points last season. Not too shabby for someone who's essentially rewriting the record books one goal at a time.
Before rocking up at City in 2024, Miedema spent her time terrorising defences in an Arsenal shirt. The numbers are frankly ridiculous: 80 goals in 106 appearances, plus 35 assists for good measure.
She became the fastest player to hit 50 Barclays Women's Super League goals and the first ever to clock 100 goal involvements. Casual.
Injuries made her first season in Manchester a bumpy ride, but Miedema still bagged 11 goals and four assists. Last term she added 10 goals and five assists, helping City lift the league title, as WSL Football reports.
Coach Andrée Jeglertz has shifted Miedema into a deeper, more creative role. She now contributes heavily to build-up play and chance creation - scoring goals AND making them. Greedy? Perhaps. Effective? Absolutely.
Reuniting with former Arsenal teammate Beth Mead has proven rather handy. Mead has assisted Miedema for 12 BWSL goals, making them the most prolific partnership the league has ever seen. Chemistry like that doesn't grow on trees.
