Crystal Palace have welcomed back midfielder Shanade Hopcroft on a two-year contract after her title-winning spell at Birmingham City.

Shanade Hopcroft clearly couldn't stay away. Crystal Palace have announced the 28-year-old midfielder is back at the club on a fresh two-year deal - and frankly, who can blame her for wanting a reunion?
Hopcroft spent the second half of last season at Birmingham City, where she picked up a league winner's medal for her troubles. Both Palace and Birmingham earned promotion to the Barclays Women's Super League, so now they'll be scrapping it out in the top flight together. Awkward.
This isn't exactly uncharted ground for Hopcroft. She originally arrived at Palace in the summer of 2023 from London City Lionesses, racking up 41 appearances and bagging seven goals during her first stint. Fans took to her quickly - and the feeling, it seems, was mutual.
On her return, Hopcroft said she feels right at home and can't wait for the campaign to kick off. Sweet stuff.
She becomes Palace's ninth summer signing and could line up for her second debut when Everton come calling, WSL Full-Time reports. No pressure, then.
