BK Häcken have moved to shore up their defence by bringing in Ella McBride, a 22-year-old Canadian defender who has penned a deal running all the way through to the end of 2029.
The Damallsvenskan club confirmed the signing on Friday, as Fotbollskanalen reports.
McBride arrives from the college soccer system in North America and boasts international pedigree, having represented Canada at U20 level. She is regarded as a versatile, left-footed defender with an eye for playing on the front foot - exactly the profile Häcken were seeking.
The length of the contract speaks volumes about the club's belief in the young defender. Tied down until 2029, McBride will have ample time to establish herself in Swedish top-flight football and develop further at one of the Damallsvenskan's most ambitious sides.
