Elena Delle Donne, Candace Parker, and seven other honourees officially joined basketball's most exclusive club on Saturday evening, as the 2026 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame ceremony unfolded at Symphony Hall in Springfield, Massachusetts.
The star-studded class featured three WNBA greats - Delle Donne, Parker, and Chamique Holdsclaw - alongside NBA veteran Amar'e Stoudemire, coaches Mike D'Antoni, Doc Rivers, and Mark Few, referee Joey Crawford, and the legendary 1996 United States Women's National Team.
Delle Donne delivered an emotional speech, crediting her sister Lizzie - who is blind and deaf - as her greatest inspiration. The two-time MVP also reflected on leading the Washington Mystics to their championship title, calling the sport a lifelong love.
Holdsclaw used her moment at the podium to thank former teammates and coaches, singling out the late Pat Summitt, who died in 2016. She spoke movingly about her years at Tennessee and the transformative effect the 1996 Olympic squad had on women's basketball.
Each inductee was introduced by a fellow legend. Stoudemire and D'Antoni presented for one another, while Sylvia Fowles did the honours for Delle Donne and Tamika Catchings stepped up for Parker.
