Colombian international Ivonne Chacón has swapped the NWSL for Serie A, sealing a move to ACF Fiorentina on a deal running until June 30, 2028. The 28-year-old departs Chicago Stars after a largely frustrating spell in the United States, as Soccerdonna reports.
Chacón had been tied to the Stars until the end of 2027, but limited opportunities made a departure inevitable. She featured in 13 NWSL matches this season, starting just once and failing to find the net.
Her move to Chicago came in August 2025 from Levante, where she had been a standout - playing all 30 league games in 2024/25 and netting 11 goals. After crossing the Atlantic, she managed five further appearances, registering one goal and one assist before the end of that campaign.
Chacón launched her career at Independiente Santa Fe, lifting the Colombian championship in 2020. A stint at Millonarios followed before she made the jump to Spain in 2022, spending two seasons with Valencia CF and one at Levante.
A regular in the Colombia squad since 2022, Chacón was part of the side that reached the 2023 World Cup quarter-finals. She also found the net in the 2025 CONMEBOL Liga de Naciones against Peru.
