Rivals reunite as TUF coaches

Alexa Grasso and Valentina Shevchenko are set to take charge of opposing teams on the 32nd season of The Ultimate Fighter, as confirmed by the UFC. The reality competition series launches on 4 June, airing on ESPN and ESPN+.

Divisions and a possible trilogy bout

The two coaches will oversee teams competing in the featherweight and middleweight categories. Speculation is already building that the pair could meet inside the octagon for a third time once the season wraps up, with the Noche UFC card on 14 September touted as a possible date, Sherdog reports.

A rivalry forged in the flyweight division

Grasso stunned the MMA world by dethroning Shevchenko for the women's flyweight title at UFC 285 in March 2023. Their rematch five months later ended in a split draw - a result that extended Shevchenko's longest stretch without a victory.

Shevchenko remains one of the most decorated fighters in UFC history, having successfully defended the flyweight crown seven times - a record for any women's championship in the promotion.
