Venus and Serena Williams will return to doubles together at the Cincinnati Open on 13 August - their first match as a pair since 2022.

Venus and Serena Williams are teaming up once more. The legendary siblings have secured a wild card for the doubles draw at the Cincinnati Open, which gets underway on 13 August - their first competitive outing as a pair since 2022.
For Serena, 44, the event represents a return to hard-court action, though she will not be entering the singles competition. She has not featured in US Open singles since 2022, and this doubles appearance alongside her sister suggests a carefully managed route back to the sport.
Venus, 46, will contest the singles in Cincinnati and has also accepted a wild-card spot in the Canadian Open singles draw. Her recent form, however, makes for grim reading - she has dropped her last 14 singles matches on the WTA Tour, with her most recent victory coming in July 2025.
The pair had initially planned to reunite at Wimbledon earlier this summer, but those hopes were dashed when Serena was forced to pull out with a knee injury. Cincinnati, then, offers something of a second chance.
Beyond Cincinnati, there is further intrigue. The sisters have until 17 August to enter the mixed doubles at the US Open, raising the prospect of yet more Williams action in New York later this month.
