Veteran forward Rachel Williams has joined Burnley from Leicester City on a one-year deal, bringing 22 years of experience to Turf Moor.

Burnley have snapped up the experienced forward from Barclays WSL2 rivals Leicester City on a one-year deal, with the option to extend for a further season, as reported by WSL Full-Time.
Williams brings a staggering 22 years of senior football to Turf Moor. She's had three separate stints at Leicester City - clearly a fan of the place - along with two spells at Birmingham City.
Her CV also features Doncaster Rovers Belles, Chelsea, Notts County, Tottenham Hotspur, and Manchester United. That's not a career - that's a full tour of English football.
She made 10 appearances for Leicester during the second half of last season before making this latest move.
Williams has spoken of her enthusiasm about heading back up north and being impressed by Burnley's ambitions. She also noted existing connections with several players already at the club.
Burnley begin their WSL2 campaign away at Watford on 4 September 2026. Williams will no doubt be keen to prove age is just a number.
