Two Ballon d'Or awards, four Champions League titles, and over 500 appearances - Alexia Putellas has called time on her 14-year spell at FC Barcelona.

Alexia Putellas is done with FC Barcelona. After 14 years, two Ballon d'Or trophies, and four Champions League titles, the Spanish icon has confirmed her exit from the Catalan giants.
Putellas arrived at Barcelona back in 2012 and racked up more than 500 appearances. She claimed back-to-back Ballon d'Or awards in 2021 and 2022, cementing herself as arguably the greatest women's footballer of her generation.
The announcement came in the wake of an emotional Champions League final appearance against OL Lyon - a fitting stage for a player who defined an era, as Footeuses reports.
Rumours linking Putellas to London City have already begun swirling. Her final home outing is pencilled in for 27 May, with the season wrapping up on 31 May against Madrid CF.
Wherever she ends up, Barcelona will feel the void for years to come.
