Kayla McBride set a WNBA record with 10 three-pointers and scored 43 points as the Minnesota Lynx hammered the Dallas Wings 103-90 to secure their playoff place.
AIKayla McBride delivered a performance for the ages on Sunday, draining a WNBA-record 10 three-pointers and pouring in 43 points as the Minnesota Lynx cruised past the Dallas Wings 103-90.
McBride was virtually unstoppable, finishing 16 of 21 from the field and 10 of 14 from beyond the arc before exiting to a standing ovation from the home crowd. The Lynx as a team hit 18 three-pointers - a new franchise record.
The victory clinched a playoff berth for Minnesota, who have now won 12 of their last 13 games. Olivia Miles was superb alongside McBride, posting 20 points and 13 assists, while Napheesa Collier chipped in 17 and Natasha Howard added 12.
Dallas suffered a third straight defeat - their sixth loss in eight outings. Paige Bueckers led the Wings with 23 points and eight assists, while Aziaha James posted a season-high 19. The game took an early blow for Dallas when All-Star Jessica Shepard departed in the first quarter with an ankle injury. Rookie Azzi Fudd also missed out for a second consecutive game due to a knee problem.
Both sides are back in action on Wednesday, with Dallas hosting Toronto and Minnesota travelling to Portland.
