Hipp makes Bremen move

Central midfielder Jenny Hipp has completed a move to Werder Bremen following the expiry of her contract at 1. FC Union Berlin in June, as reported by Soccerdonna.

The 28-year-old spent her summer training individually - partly in England - as she recovered from an injury ahead of the new campaign.

What she brings

At Union Berlin, Hipp featured 15 times in the Frauen-Bundesliga, netting twice, and made one DFB-Pokal appearance. Prior to that, she enjoyed a prolific four-year spell at RB Leipzig, racking up 80 competitive outings and 18 goals while helping the club clinch the 2. Frauen-Bundesliga title in 2022/23 and earn promotion to the top flight.

From Potsdam to the States and back

Hipp's footballing roots lie at Turbine Potsdam, where she began her development and debuted in the 2. Frauen-Bundesliga aged just 16. She then headed to the United States for college soccer at the University of Massachusetts Amherst between 2017 and 2020, before returning to Germany and joining FC Carl Zeiss Jena.
