Germany's 3. Liga and the Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga are set to put sustainability front and centre across two dedicated match days this month, running from 4-7 September and again from 11-14 September 2026.
Under the banner "Gemeinsam. Gutes Spiel.", clubs will roll out a range of ecological and social measures alongside fans and community partners. The initiative spotlights environment, social responsibility, governance and health - aiming to build awareness and encourage fresh commitments, as OneFootball reports.
Before kick-off, players and match officials will pose behind a dedicated banner symbolising collective responsibility. The DFB is supplying specially designed captain's armbands and corner flags to keep the campaign visible throughout every fixture.
Individual clubs will pursue their own sustainability projects guided by DFB guidelines. Expect litter picks, sustainable catering options, tree-planting schemes and incentives for eco-friendly travel to stadiums.
Beyond environmental action, clubs are planning inclusive programmes, blood donation drives and tie-ups with social organisations. The DFB will donate €100 for every goal scored during the campaign period to fund sustainable projects across the leagues.
